2007.10.12 the failings of relativity

i am saddened tonight after talking with a friend.

it is so strange how there can be such a gap in communication, one that cannot be bridged unless someone compromises their core beliefs. what is true for one person can completely contradict what is true for another. for example, this friend of which i speak would consider humility and always putting others before and above you a large weakness. i, on the other hand, think that egotism and always looking out for yourself before others is not only weak, but detrimental to society. he would say the same about my beliefs.

the issue that always comes up is abortion. it is frustrating to me to know someone who is convinced that it's legality is completely moral and constitutional, because i think that it is quite the opposite. the problem is our worldviews are almost entirely opposite.

Jude 1:4 speaks of false teachers, but i think it rings true for much of the world, too. how sad. how heartbreaking. why are some chosen to know the truth and others utterly blind to it? that is a question that i will never be able to answer to the liking of my tiny, human brain. on that note... goodnight.
